We report on a theoretical study of a ring-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate with Raman-induced spin-orbital-angular-momentum coupling. We analyze the structure of the ground-state of the system depending on different physical parameters and reveal a peculiar fine structure within the stripe phase on the phase diagram. We demonstrate the existence of the predicted stripe sub-phases within a wide range of physical parameters, their traceability through physical observables, and compare the results…

Visible stripe phases in spin–orbital-angular-momentum coupled Bose–Einstein condensates
Recently, stripe phases in spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) have attracted much attention since they are identified as supersolid phases. In this paper, we exploit experimentally
Angular stripe phase in spin-orbital-angular-momentum coupled Bose condensates
We propose that novel superfluid with supersolid-like properties - angular stripe phase - can be realized in a two-dimensional spin-1/2 Bose gas with spin-orbital-angular-momentum coupling. We
Symmetry breaking and phase transitions in Bose-Einstein condensates with spin–orbital-angular-momentum coupling
Theoretical study is presented for a spinor Bose-Einstein condensate, whose two components are coupled by copropagating Raman beams with different orbital angular momenta. The investigation is
Ground-State Phase Diagram of a Spin-Orbital-Angular-Momentum Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensate.
This work induces a Raman transition using a pair of Gaussian and Laguerre-Gaussian laser beams to realize a condensate whose orbital angular momentum and its internal spin states are coupled, paving the way to explore exotic quantum phases in the spin-orbital-angular-momentum coupled quantum gases.
Spin-orbit angular momentum coupling in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate
We propose a simple model with spin and orbit angular momentum coupling in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate, where three internal atomic states are Raman coupled by a pair of copropagating
Excitation spectra of a Bose-Einstein condensate with an angular spin-orbit coupling
A theoretical model of a Bose-Einstein condensate with angular spin-orbit coupling has recently been proposed and it has been established that a half-skyrmion represents the ground state in a certain
Quantum tricriticality and phase transitions in spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates.
A spin-orbit coupled configuration of spin-1/2 interacting bosons with equal Rashba and Dresselhaus couplings is considered with special emphasis on the role of the interaction treated in the mean-field approximation.
Superstripes and the excitation spectrum of a spin-orbit-coupled Bose-Einstein condensate.
Using Bogoliubov theory we calculate the excitation spectrum of a spinor Bose-Einstein condensed gas with an equal Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling in the stripe phase. The emergence of a
Exotic Vortex States with Discrete Rotational Symmetry in Atomic Fermi Gases with Spin-Orbital-Angular-Momentum Coupling.
An unprecedented vortex state, which breaks the continuous rotational symmetry to a discrete one spontaneously, is predicted to occur in the SOAMC gas, and the unique density distributions of the predicted vortex states enable a direct observation in experiment.
A stripe phase with supersolid properties in spin–orbit-coupled Bose–Einstein condensates
This work establishes a system with continuous symmetry-breaking properties, associated collective excitations and superfluid behaviour, and observes the predicted density modulation of this stripe phase using Bragg reflection while maintaining a sharp momentum distribution.
