Field orientation has emerged as a powerful tool for controlling ac machines such as inverter-supplied induction motors. The dynamic performance of such a drive is comparable to that of a converterfed four quadrant dc drive. The complex functions required by filed-oriented control may be executed by microprocessors on line, thus greatly reducing the necessary control hardware. It is shown that the flux signals may be derived from sensing coils or, with some compromise in performance, from the…

Field Oriented Control of Synchronous Machines using a Novel Feedback System

Field orientation method of speed control has emerged as a powerful tool for ac machines. The dynamic performance of such a drive is comparable to that of a converter fed four quadrant dc drive. An

Microprocessor-Based Field-Oriented Control of A CSI-Fed Induction Motor Drive

A control scheme using this principle is described for orienting the stator current with respect to the rotor flux, as this gives natural decoupling between the current coordinates.

Microprocessor-Controlled AC-Servo Drives with Synchronous or Induction Motors: Which is Preferable?

A general control principle, based on field or rotor orientation, is described which has been realized with a state-of-the-art microcomputer, where all the signal processing, including modulation of the inverter, is performed by software.

Feed forward field orientation control of an induction motor using a PWM voltage source inverter and standardized single-board computers

The implementation of a speed-control regulator for an induction motor with single-board computers and as much standardized hardware as possible is described. The improvements over previous attempts

Because the field orientation strategy was implemented in a stationary reference frame, multiple transformations between the three-phase and synchronous reference frame normally associated with field-oriented controllers were avoided, resulting in a considerable saving in execution time.

A microcomputer based vector controlled induction motor drive

The conventional induction motor drive rotor field orientation vector control method is modified to achieve a simple architecture which obviates the generation of the unit vector and the time varying

Microprocessor-Based Vector Control System for Induction Motor Drives with Rotor Time Constant Identification Function

A microprocessor-based high-performance vector control system for induction motor drives is discussed, which can operate stably even when the saturation of a supplied voltage occurs.

Microprocessor-based primary current control for a cage induction motor drive

A novel approach for primary current vector control of a current-source inverter induction motor (CSI-IM) drive with an improved estimation of slip angular frequency is described. Accurate digital
