Intrauterine growth restriction is one of the most common and complex problems in modern obstetrics. The cut off value mainly used for defining an IUGR is at the 10th percentile. There are many evidence demonstrating that the adverse perinatal outcome are mainly confined to infants below the 5th or 3th percentile.
