In order to study fetal haemoglobin production during acute erythroid expansion we did sequential measurements of Hb F-containing erythrocytes (F-cells) and of relevant haematological parameters in 10 subjects recovering from eyrthroid aplasia, iron deficiency anaemia or following phlebotomy.
