We have investigated the magnetic properties of Fe, Co, and Ni at finite temperatures on the basis of the first-principles dynamical coherent potential approximation (CPA) in order to clarify the role of the exchange interaction energy ($J$) screened by {\it sp} electrons and its applicability to finite-temperature magnetism. With use of the atomic $J$, we obtained the Curie temperatures ($T_{\rm C}$) 1930 K for Fe and 2550 K for fcc Co, which are overestimated by a factor of 1.8 as compared… Expand

First-Principles Momentum Dependent Local Ansatz Approach to the Ground-State Properties of Iron-Group Transition Metals
The ground-state properties of iron-group transition metals from Sc to Cu have been investigated on the basis of the first-principles momentum dependent local ansatz (MLA) theory. Correlation energyExpand
Tuning the laser-induced ultrafast demagnetization of transition metals
The ultrafast demagnetization (UFD) dynamics of itinerant ferromagnets is theoretically investigated as a function of the characteristics of the initial laser excitation. A many-body pd-bandExpand
First-Principles Theory of Momentum Dependent Local Ansatz Approach to Correlated Electron System
We have extended the momentum-dependent local-ansatz (MLA) wavefunction method to the first-principles version using the tight-binding LDA+U Hamiltonian for the description of correlated electrons inExpand
Dynamical nonlocal coherent-potential approximation for itinerant electron magnetism.
TLDR
In the present work, calculations are performed within the static approximation and the effect of the nonlocal physics on the formation of the local moment state in a simple model is investigated and the results reveal the importance of the dynamical correlations. Expand
First-Principles Momentum Dependent Local Ansatz Approach to the Momentum Distribution Function in Iron-Group Transition Metals
The momentum distribution function (MDF) bands of iron-group transition metals from Sc to Cu have been investigated on the basis of the first-principles momentum dependent local ansatz wavefunction...
