We calculate the current-phase relation of a planar Josephson junction with a ferromagnetic weak link located on top of a thin normal metal film. Following experimental observations we assume transparent superconductor-ferromagnet interfaces. This provides the best interlayer coupling and a low suppression of the superconducting correlations penetrating from the superconducting electrodes into the ferromagnetic layer. We show that this Josephson junction is a promising candidate for…

Magnetization Induced in a Superconductor Due to the Effect of Proximity with a Ferromagnetic Dielectric
Abstract This work investigates the magnetization of a superconductor induced by the proximity effect in bilayers containing a superconductor and a ferromagnetic insulator using the Green’s functions
Planar Superconductor-Ferromagnet-Superconductor Josephson Junctions as Scanning-Probe Sensors
We propose a magnetic scanning-probe sensor based on a single-planar Josephson junction with a magnetic barrier. The planar geometry together with the high magnetic permeability of the barrier faci
Magnetization in Superconductor–Ferromagnetic Metal Bilayers Induced by the Inverse Proximity Effect
Within the Green’s function formalism, the magnetization induced by the inverse proximity effect in bilayers containing a superconductor and a strongly spin-polarized ferromagnetic metal is studied.
Switchable spiral Josephson junction: a superconducting spin-valve proposal
We propose a superconducting spin valve based on a Josephson junction with B20-family magnetic metal as a barrier material. Our analysis shows that the states of this element can be switched by
Realization of φ Josephson Junctions with a Ferromagnetic Interlayer
In this thesis, φ Josephson junctions based on 0-π junctions with a ferromagnetic interlayer are studied. Josephson junctions (JJs) with a ferromagnetic interlayer can have a phase drop of 0 or π in
Superconducting Spin Valves Based on Spiral Magnets
Abstract—Structures with spiral antiferromagnets are proposed as superconducting memory elements. The first structure consists of one superconducting layer and one magnetic layer with a spiral
Spontaneous supercurrent and φ 0 phase shift parallel to magnetized topological insulator interfaces
Employing a Keldysh-Eilenberger technique, we theoretically study the generation of a sponta- neous supercurrent and the appearance of the ${\phi}$0 phase shift parallel to uniformly in-plane mag-

TLDR
This report follows recent developments in the controlled creation of long-range equal-spin triplet supercurrents in ferromagnets and its contribution to spintronics.
Basic Properties of the Josephson Effect
The Josephson effect was predicted theoretically by Brian Josephson in 1962 [1] and shortly afterwards it was confirmed experimentally in 1963 [2, 3]. The unique quantum features of the this effect
Memory cell based on a $\varphi$ Josephson junction
The $\varphi$ Josephson junction has a doubly degenerate ground state with the Josephson phases $\pm\varphi$. We demonstrate the use of such a $\varphi$ Josephson junction as a memory cell (classical

Thickness dependence of the Josephson ground States of superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor junctions.
TLDR
The first experimental observation of the two-node thickness dependence of the critical current in Josephson junctions with a ferromagnetic interlayer is reported and a theoretical approach based on the Usadel equations taking into account the spin-flip scattering is developed.

The ground state of the 330 microm (1.3lambda(J)) long junction corresponds to a spontaneous vortex of supercurrent pinned at the 0-pi step and carrying approximately 6.7% of the magnetic flux quantum Phi(0).
Implementation of superconductor/ferromagnet/ superconductor [pi]-shifters in superconducting digital and quantum circuits

Experimental evidence of a φ Josephson junction.
TLDR
It is demonstrated experimentally the existence of Josephson junctions having a doubly degenerate ground state with an average Josephson phase ψ=±φ, and it is shown that this phase can be set to a particular state by tuning an external magnetic field, or by using a proper bias current sweep sequence.
