As a consequence of axial current conservation, fermions cannot be localized in the massless NJL$_2$ model. In the case of twisted kinks, this manifests itself in a cancellation between valence fermion density and fermion density induced in the Dirac sea. To attribute the correct fermion number to these bound states requires an infrared regularization. Recently, this has been achieved by introducing a bare fermion mass, at least in the non-relativistic regime of small twist angles and fermion…

### Untwisting twisted NJL2 kinks by a bare fermion mass

Twisted kinks in the massless NJL$_2$ model interpolate between two distinct vacua on the chiral circle. If one approaches the chiral limit from finite bare fermion masses $m_0$, the vacuum is unique

### Divergence of the axial current and fermion density in Gross-Neveu models

• Physics

The divergence of the axial current is used to relate the spatial derivative of the fermion density to the bare fermion mass and scalar/pseudoscalar condensates in 1+1 dimensional Gross-Neveu models.

We study two-dimensional, large N field theoretic models (Gross-Neveu model, 't Hooft model) at finite baryon density near the chiral limit. The same mechanism which leads to massless baryons in

A semiclassical calculation of the particle spectrum in the Gross--Neveu model was carried out. It is a two-dimensional model with N species of fermions interacting through a symmetrical

### Dynamical symmetry breaking in asymptotically free field theories

• Physics

Two-dimensional massless fermion field theories with quartic interactions are analyzed. These models are asymptotically free. The models are expanded in powers of $\frac{1}{N,}$ where $N$ is the

### Inhomogeneous Condensates in the Thermodynamics of the Chiral NJL(2) model

We analyze the thermodynamical properties, at finite density and nonzero temperature, of the (1+1) dimensional chiral Gross-Neveu model (the NJL{sub 2} model), using the exact inhomogeneous

### Semiclassical Bound States in a Model with Chiral Symmetry

We discuss semiclassical bound states in a manifestly chiral-symmetric model, the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model in 2 space-time dimensions. The mass spectrum of the bound states in the theory is found
