Today in Germany (BRD) the penal law position concerning voluntary sterilization is not at all clear. Nazi jurists recognized compulsory sterilization for eugenic reasons (Congenital Health Law of 1933) but this has since been discredited and has complicated the question of sterilization since certain regulations concerning voluntary sterilization were and are contained therein.
