  • Female mate choice was examined in a captive group of vervet monkeys (Cercopithecus aethiops sabaeus). Male‐female interactions were examined under both dyadic and group conditions to determine whether females mate with different males under the two conditions. Results showed that all females preferred to mate with the alpha male under both dyadic and group conditions.
