We investigate the possible presence of dark matter (DM) in massive and rotating neutron stars (NSs). For the purpose we extend our previous work [1] to introduce a light new physics vector mediator besides a scalar one in order to ensure feeble interaction between fermionic DM and β stable hadronic matter in NSs. The chosen masses of DM fermion and the mediators and the couplings are consistent with the self-interaction constraint from Bullet cluster and from present day relic abundance… Expand

Cooling of dark-matter admixed neutron stars with density-dependent equation of state
We propose a dark-matter (DM) admixed density-dependent equation of state where the fermionic DM interacts with the nucleons via Higgs portal. Presence of DM can hardly influence the particleExpand
GW170817 constraints on the properties of a neutron star in the presence of WIMP dark matter
The properties of a neutron star are studied in the presence of dark matter. We have considered a relatively light Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) as a dark matter candidate withExpand
Model-independent astrophysical constraints on leptophilic Dark Matter in the framework of Tsallis statistics
We derive model-independent astrophysical constraints on leptophilic dark matter (DM), considering its thermal production in a supernova core and taking into account core temperature fluctuationsExpand
Effects of hadron–quark phase transition on properties of neutron stars
We investigate the possible scenario of deconfinement of hyperon rich hadronic matter to quark matter at high densities and the resulting hybrid star (HS) properties are analyzed. In the relativisticExpand
Dark matter effects on neutron star properties
We study possible effects of a dark matter (DM) core on the maximum mass of a neutron star (NS), on the mass-radius relation and on the NS tidal deformability parameter $\Lambda$. We show that allExpand
Hyperons and massive neutron stars: The role of hyperon potentials
Abstract The constituents of cold dense matter are still far from being understood. However, neutron star observations such as the recently observed pulsar PSR J1614-2230 with a mass of 1.97 ± 0.04 MExpand
Improved treatment of dark matter capture in neutron stars II: leptonic targets
Neutron stars harbour matter under extreme conditions, providing a unique testing ground for fundamental interactions. We recently developed an improved treatment of dark matter (DM) capture inExpand
Relativistic mean-field hadronic models under nuclear matter constraints
Background: The microscopic composition and properties of infinite hadronic matter at a wide range of densities and temperatures have been subjects of intense investigation for decades. The equationExpand
Equation-of-state Table with Hyperon and Antikaon for Supernova and Neutron Star Merger
We develop a new equation-of-state (EOS) table involving thermal (anti)kaons, Bose–Einstein condensate of K − mesons, and Λ-hyperons for core-collapse supernova and neutron star merger simulations.Expand
Revisiting scalar and pseudoscalar couplings with nucleons
A bstractCertain dark matter interactions with nuclei are mediated possibly by a scalar or pseudoscalar Higgs boson. The estimation of the corresponding cross sections requires a correct evaluationExpand
