The idea of Open Distributed Processing (ODP) as an extension of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) is an attempt to model the development of integrated distributed environments. A generalization of the OSI Directory name structure is suggested for ODP Trading. The Trader itself is an object which administers services offered by objects in a system.
