A feature representation for sheet-metal parts is briefly reviewed. The properties of general concave and convex regions of a sheet-metal component, with some types of intersections of such regions, are considered. An algorithm for the extraction of such regions from a CAO B-rep model is then outlined. An order of creation of the regions during processing is also determined in most cases. Some application examples are outlined.
