The Lurcher mutant mice are characterized by massive cerebellar cortex degeneration. Besides their motor and cognitive disturbances, they exhibit both exaggerated blood corticosterone (CORT) level surge and behavioral disinhibition when confronted to anxiogenic conditions (i.e. to a potential threat).
