Herpes simplex virus (HSV) hepatitis is often unrecognized clinically with most untreated cases diagnosed postmortem. HSV hepatitis has been reported in solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients, mostly in kidney and liver transplants, and rarely in heart transplant recipients.
