In this paper, we show how to fully exploit the capabilities of high--end SGI graphics and parallel machines to perform radiosity computations on scenes made of complex shapes both quickly and accurately. Overlapping multi--processing and multi--pipeline graphics accelerations on one hand, and incorporating recent research works on wavelet radiosity on the other hand, allows radiosity to become a practical tool for interactive design.
