The domains of the 26-item World Health Organization Quality of Life Instrument (WHOQOL-Bref) contain heterogeneous items and do not encompass the logical constructs of subjective quality of life (QOL). We compared the WHO 4-domain and 6-domain models of the WHOQOL-Bref with the 8-domain model that we obtained from factor analysis (FA).
