This paper described the fabrication of CdS-nanoparticle/polystyrene latexes through the combined use of surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) and gas/solid reaction. The epoxy groups modified polystyrene(PS) latexes were grafted with α-Br groups easily through the reaction between epoxy groups and BMPA in water.
