The textile and clothing industry has traditionally used Cusick Drapemeter for the assessment of fabric drape. In this paper, a modified method of measuring fabric drape using the Cusick Drapemeter was demonstrated. The modified method involves digitally capturing image and processing it in simple steps using image processing software. The study was conducted using a range of woven fabric samples. The fabrics were conventionally evaluated using the Cusick Drapemeter (British Standard Institute…

A Simple Method for Measuring Fabric Drape Using Digital Image Processing
TLDR
A simple, easy and precise method for measuring fabric drape using the image processing technique and a method of expressing drape, node and structural parameters relating to the drape coefficient of fabrics has been developed.
Image processing based drape measurement of fabrics using circular Hough transformation
TLDR
Fast, accurate and robust objective fabric drape test method has been developed using image processing algorithm based on the Circular Hough Transform to calculate the drape coefficient of fabrics.
The measurement of drape for nonwoven and conventional textile fabrics
The importance of the drape properties of fabrics on final garment appearance and fit has been long understood and a great deal of research has been carried out in this area. More recently, nonwoven
Fabric and Garment Drape Measurement - Part 2
Fabric and garment drape were compared using an alternative drape measurement system based on an image analysis technique. Garment drape was investigated using dresses suspended on a mannequin. A
Unidirectional Fabric Drape Testing Method
TLDR
A novel method which simulates the real mechanical conditions and ensures the gravity is parallel to the fabric plane, namely unidirectional fabric drape testing method, which is more suitable for evaluating drape behavior.
ANALYSIS OF A FABRIC DRAPE PROFILE
Draping is an important factor in presenting the aesthetics and functionality of textile materials and products. Drape coefficient was used as a numerical indicator of drapery of textile materials.
Subjective and Objective Evaluation Methods to Determine the Peak-trough Threshold of the Drape Fabric Node
This study focused on the use of subjective and objective evaluation methods to determine the peak-trough threshold of the drape fabric node. Nineteen different dynamic drape images of fabric,
Fabric and garment drape measurement - part 1
This paper aims to make a comprehensive review of measurement methods developed for evaluating fabric and garment drape. Drapemeters used for evaluating drapeability since Pierce's bending length
Objective evaluation of multidirectional fabric wrinkling using image analysis
Abstract In the textile industry, the wrinkled fabrics are regularly evaluated subjectively in reference to a set of visual standards. However, due to the disadvantages of visual evaluation, which
Influence of the Structural Parameters of Woven Fabrics on their Drapeability
Drape is a very important utility parameter of fabrics, especially applied in clothing. It influences the aesthetic effect of clothing, in particular its fitting to the user’s body. Fabric draping is
