An in vitro bioassay was used to characterize the pattern of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)- and luteinizing hormone (LH)-releasing activities in the anterior (AH) and medial basal hypothalamus (MBH) during proestrus (P) and estrus (E) in the hamster.
