A new programming language called FORTRAN-SC is presented which is closely related to FORTRAN 8x. FORTRAN-SC is a FORTRAN extension with emphasis on engineering and scientific computation. It is particularly suitable for the development of numerical algorithms which deliver highly accurate and automatically verified results.
