Acute yellow atrophy of the liver, also known as icterus gravis, acute parenchymatous hepatitis, malignant jaundice, parenchymatous degeneration of the liver or acute necrosis of the liver, is a widespread degeneration of the liver with toxic manifestations, jaundice and a reduction in the size of the liver.
