We study minimal implementations of Majorana and Dirac neutrino scenarios in F-theory GUT models. In both cases the mass scale of the neutrinos mυ ∼ Mweak2/ΛUV arises from integrating out Kaluza-Klein modes, where ΛUV is close to the GUT scale. The participation of non-holomorphic Kaluza-Klein mode wave functions dilutes the mass hierarchy in comparison to the quark and charged lepton sectors, in agreement with experimentally measured mass splittings. The neutrinos are predicted to exhibit a…
Phenomenology with F-theory SU(5)
• Physics
• 2017
We explore the low energy phenomenology of an F-theory based SU(5) model which, in addition to the known quarks and leptons, contains Standard Model singlets, and vector-like color triplets and SU(2)
Neutrino mass textures from F-theory

Experimental data on the neutrino mixing and masses strongly suggest an underlying approximate symmetry of the relevant Yukawa superpotential terms. Intensive phenomenological explorations during the
The point of E8 in F-theory GUTs
• Physics
• 2009
We show that in F-theory GUTs, a natural explanation of flavor hierarchies in the quark and lepton sector requires a single point of E8 enhancement in the internal geometry, from which all Yukawa
Dirac gauginos and unification in F-theory
A bstractSupersymmetric models in which the gauginos acquire Dirac masses, rather than Majorana masses, offer an appealing alternative to the minimal supersymmetric standard model, especially in the
Bi-large neutrino mixing with charged lepton correction
• Physics
• 2012
Usual bi-maximal neutrino mixing faces an inherent problem in lowering the solar angle below $$\tan^{2}\theta_{12}=0.50$$tan2θ12=0.50 when charged lepton correction is considered. This minimum θ12 is
Extra $W$-Boson Mass from a D3-Brane
Motivated by the recent CDF measurement of the W -boson mass, we study string-based particle physics models which can accommodate this deviation from the Standard Model. We consider an F-theory GUT
Massive wavefunctions, proton decay and FCNCs in local F-theory GUTs

A bstractWe study the coupling of MSSM fields to heavy modes through cubic superpotential interactions in F-theory SU(5) GUTs. The couplings are calculated by integrating the overlap of two massless
Flavor structure in F-theory compactifications
• Physics
• 2010
F-theory is one of frameworks in string theory where supersymmetric grand unification is accommodated, and all the Yukawa couplings and Majorana masses of righthanded neutrinos are generated. Yukawa
