Abstract In our recent study the maximal values of kinetic and potential energy densities that can be achieved in the collisions of N slow kinks in the sine-Gordon model were calculated analytically (for N = 1, 2, and 3) and numerically (for 4 ≤ N ≤ 7). However, for many physical applications it is important to know not only the total potential energy density but also its two components (the on-site potential energy density and the elastic strain energy density) as well as the extreme values of…

Multisoliton Dynamics in the Sine-Gordon Model with Two Point Impurities

Collective variables method is used to derive a set of differential equations to describe the dynamics of a kink in the sine-Gordon model with two identical point impurities taking damping into

Kinks in the relativistic model with logarithmic nonlinearity

We study the properties of a relativistic model with logarithmic nonlinearity. We show that such model allows two types of solutions: topologically trivial (gaussons) and topologically non-trivial

Collisions of kinks in deformed $\varphi^4$ and $\varphi^6$ models

Two hyperbolic-deformed field theoretic models are discussed. In both of them, due to the effect of specific deformation function on the well known ϕ 4 and ϕ 6 models, their internal structure may

Wobbling double sine-Gordon kinks

Abstract We study the collision of a kink and an antikink in the double sine-Gordon model with and without the excited vibrational mode. In the latter case, we find that there is a limited range of

Kink-antikink collision in a Lorentz-violating ϕ4 model

Excitation of Large-Amplitude Localized Nonlinear Waves by the Interaction of Kinks of the Sine-Gordon Equation with Attracting Impurity

The generation and evolution of localized waves on an impurity in the scattering of a kink of the sine-Gordon equation are studied. It is shown that the problem can be considered as excitation of

Scattering of Kinks in the $B\Varphi^{4}$ Model

In this study, based on the ϕ 4 model, a new model (called the Bϕ 4 model) is introduced in which the potential form for the values of the field whose magnitudes are greater than 1 is multiplied by

Kink scattering in a hybrid model

Semi-compactness and multiple oscillating pulses in kink scattering

In this work we consider models of asymmetric kinks, where the behavior of the solution in one side is different from the other side. Also, the models depend of an integer $n$ and, with the increase

High Energy Density in Multisoliton Collisions

Solitons are very effective in transporting energy over great distances and collisions between them can produce high energy density spots of relevance to phase transformations, energy localization

Radiationless energy exchange in three-soliton collisions.

It is explained why collisions between two kinks and one antikink are observed to be practically elastic or strongly inelastic depending on relative initial positions of the kinks, and the fact that the three-soliton collisions become more elastic with an increase in the collision velocity becomes clear in the framework of thethree-particle model.

Multi-kink collisions in the ϕ6 model

A bstractWe study simultaneous collisions of two, three, and four kinks and antikinks of the ϕ6 model at the same spatial point. Unlike the ϕ4 kinks, the ϕ6 kinks are asymmetric and this enriches the

Two-soliton collisions in a near-integrable lattice system.

It is concluded that the small perturbations very weakly affect the norm and energy conservation, but completely destroy the conservation of the lattice momentum, which is explained by the absence of the translational symmetry in generic nonintegrable lattice models.

Resonances in the dynamics of f 4 kinks perturbed by ac forces

We study the dynamics of φ 4 kinks perturbed by an ac force, both with and without damping. We address this issue by using a collective coordinate theory, which allows us to reduce the problem to the

Search for long-living topological solutions of the nonlinear ϕ 4 field theory

We look for long-living topological solutions of classical nonlinear (1+1)-dimensional φ4 field theory. To that effect we use the well-known cut-and-match method. In this framework, new long-living

Motion of domain walls and the dynamics of kinks in the magnetic Peierls potential.

It is predicted that, despite the discreteness of the system, kinks can behave like sine-Gordon solitons in thin films of materials such as yttrium iron garnets, and general conditions for other materials are derived.

Kink excitation spectra in the (1+1)-dimensional φ8 model

A bstractWe study excitation spectra of BPS-saturated topological solutions — the kinks — of the φ8 scalar field model in (1 + 1) dimensions, for three different choices of the model parameters. We
