BACKGROUND Cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) is commonly calculated from the difference between arterial blood pressure (AP) and intracranial pressure (ICP). ICP can be considered the effective downstream pressure of the cerebral circulation. Consequently, cerebral circulatory arrest would occur when AP equals ICP.
