  • Previous investigations reported from this laboratory have shown that progesterone-4-C14 administered intravenously to female rats deprived of liver, spleen, and gastrointestinal tract was converted into at least six metabolic products (1). The major product, zone 2, isolated from carcasses of these animals, was identified as 20a-hydroxypregn-4-en-3-one (2).
