Passive avoidance by rats of an environment previously associated with inescapable electric shocks, was taken as an index of the level of fear on repeated, unpunished tests. Locomotor and non-locomotor exploratory activity was also recorded during these tests. Although amylobarbitone diminished fear it did not accelerate its extinction; the amounts of locomotion were increased in both shocked and unshocked rats and tolerance did not develop to these effects of amylobarbitone.Dexamphetamine… CONTINUE READING
