We studied four monogonont rotifers (Brachionus urceolaris, Floscularia ringens, Hexarthra mira, Notommata glyphura) using two different techniques of microscopy: (1) the presence of filamentous actin was examined using phalloidin-fluorescent labelled specimens and a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM); (2) external morphology was investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
