The aim of the present work was to study the distribution of cells expressing Musashi-1 (Msi-1) protein, which is regarded as a marker for neural stem cells, in the rat telencephalon. These cells were found to be concentrated in the subventricular proliferative zone and diffusely distributed in the striatum and hippocampus.
