The expression of estrogen synthetase (aromatase), catalyzing a rate limiting reaction in estrogen formation, was examined in 3T3-L1 cells during adipose differentiation. The expression of another P-450 enzyme, cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme (P-450scc) by the cells was also studied for comparison.
