In testis, tight junctions (TJs) between adjacent Sertoli cells are important for the formation of the blood-testis barrier (BTB) and crucial for spermatogenesis. The present study aimed to find postnatal changes in the expression of claudin-1, one of the TJ genes in mouse testis. By semiquantitative RT-PCR, it was found that claudin-1 expression in testis increased up to a peak at 10 days after birth and decreased thereafter.
