Recent reports have suggested that basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) could play a permissive role in hematopoiesis, in combination with specific colony-stimulating factors. We investigated the expression of bFGF and FGF-receptors (FGF-Rs) in leukemic cell lines of various hematopoietic lineages.
