Expression of alpha interferon (IFN-alpha)-, IFN-beta-, and IFN-alpha/beta-induced genes was monitored during the development of lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM) to assess whether a restricted influence of these antiviral cytokines could be found in the central nervous system (CNS).
