The expression of cytotactin, the cytotactin-binding (CTB) proteoglycan, and the neural cell adhesion molecule, N-CAM, was examined during the development of the avian endocardial cushion tissue (ECT). N-CAM was present in the cardiac mesoderm from its earliest time of development.
