The antigens Ala-1 and Ly-6 were first thought to be different on the grounds that Ala-1 was present only on activated T and B lymphocytes while Ly-6 was present only on post-thymic T lymphocytes. In this paper, it is shown that Ly-6 is expressed on activated B cells, including PFC and LPS blasts, and that after typing of several recombinant inbred lines,Ala-1 andLy-6 remain genetically inseparable.
