Abstract We present the scalar-tensor gravitational theory with an exponential potential in which Pauli metric is regarded as the physical space-time metric. We show that it is essentially equivalent to coupled quintessence (CQ) model. However for baryotropic fluid being radiation there are in fact no coupling between dilatonic scalar field and radiation. We present the critical points for baryotropic fluid and investigate the properties of critical points when the baryotropic matter is…

Exact analysis of scaling and dominant attractors beyond the exponential potential

By considering the potential parameter Γ as a function of another potential parameter λ (Zhou et al 2008 Phys. Lett. B 660 7–12), we successfully extend the analysis of a two-dimensional autonomous

Living with phantoms fields in a sheet spacetime

We consider the flat anisotropic Bianchi I braneworld model of the universe within the framework of low energy effective string action in four-dimensions including the leading order α′ terms,

Reconstructing the universe history, from inflation to acceleration, with phantom and canonical scalar fields

We consider the reconstruction technique in theories with a single or multiple (phantom and/or canonical) scalar fields. With the help of several examples, it is demonstrated explicitly that the

On Friedmann-Lema\^{\i}tre-Robertson-Walker cosmologies in non-standard gravity

The present thesis is focused on the study of FLRW cosmology in modified gravities and with scalar fields. The mystery of dark energy has made that the last decade, many efforts in theoretical

Effects of Dynamical Compactification on D-Dimensional Gauss-Bonnet FRW Cosmology

We examine the effect on cosmological evolution of adding a string motivated Gauss-Bonnet term to the traditional Einstein-Hilbert action for a (1 + 3) + d dimensional Friedman-Robertson- Walker

DILATON COUPLED QUINTESSENCE MODEL IN THE ω - ω′ PLANE

In this paper, we regard the dilaton in Weyl-scaled induced gravitational theory as a coupled quintessence. Based on this consideration, we investigate the dilaton coupled quintessence (DCQ) model in

Born–Infeld type phantom model in the ω–ω′ plane

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of Born–Infeld (B–I) phantom model in the ω–ω′ plane, which is defined by the equation of state parameter for the dark energy and its derivative

THE EVOLUTION OF THE UNIVERSE WITH THE B–I TYPE PHANTOM SCALAR FIELD

We consider the phantom cosmology with a Lagrangian originated from the nonlinear Born–Infeld type scalar field. This cosmological model can explain the accelerating expansion of the universe with

Exponential potentials and cosmological scaling solutions

Scalar fields have come to play a central role in current models of the early universe. The self-interaction potential energy density of such a field is undiluted by the expansion of the universe and

Extended Born-Infeld dynamics and cosmology

We introduce an extension of the Born-Infeld action for a scalar field and show that it can act as unifying dark matter, providing an explanation for both structure formation and the accelerated

Scalar-tensor gravity in an accelerating universe

We consider scalar-tensor theories of gravity in an accelerating universe. The equations for the background evolution and the perturbations are given in full generality for any parametrization of the

Cosmology with positive and negative exponential potentials

We present a phase-plane analysis of cosmologies containing a scalar field with an exponential potential V ∝ exp(−λ κ ) where κ2 = 8πG and V may be positive or negative. We show that power-law

COSMOLOGICAL DYNAMICS OF DILATONIC (PHANTOM) DARK ENERGY MODEL

In this paper, we study the cosmological dynamics of dilatonic dark energy model and its phantom model — with negative kinetic energy. When the potential is taken as the form

The cosmological model of Brans-Dicke theory

We use the generalized Brans-Dicke theory, in which the Pauli metric is identified to be the physical space-time metric, to study the Universe in different epochs. Exact analytical expressions for

Extended tachyon field, Chaplygin gas and solvable k-essence cosmologies

We investigate a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime filled with k essence and find the set of functions F that generate three different families of extended tachyon fields and Chaplygin gases.

It is argued that a number of models in which the energy density of the scalar field red-shifts in a specific manner are studied could reconcile the low dynamical estimates of the mean mass density with the negligibly small spatial curvature preferred by inflation.
