Abstract This paper explores the interesting diversity within the group of “smooth chanterelles” and introduces several new taxa from the tropics: C. sublaevis Buyck & Eyssart. and C. cibarioides (Heinem.) Buyck comb. nov. from Africa, C. eccentricus Buyck & V. Hofstetter and C. neocaledonicus Buyck, V. Hofstetter, Eyssart. & Ducousso from New Caledonia and C. incrassatus Buyck & V. Hofstetter from Malaysia.
Cantharellus coccolobae sp. nov. and Cantharellus garnieri, Two Tropical Members of Cantharellus subg. Cinnabarinus
Abstract This paper attributes two more species to Cantharellus subg. Cinnabarinus: the here newly described C. coccolobae, a strict associate of Coccoloba species in subtropical and tropicalExpand
A new species of Cantharellus (Cantharellales, Basidiomycota, Fungi) from subalpine forest in Yunnan, China
TLDR
Phylogenetic analysis of the transcription elongation factor 1-alpha sequence data further support its systematic position in the subgenus Cantharellus and its description as a new species. Expand
Cantharellus hainanensis, a new species with a smooth hymenophore from tropical China
TLDR
The phylogenetic analysis of DNA sequences from the translation elongation factor 1-α gene ( TEF1) confirms that it forms an independent lineage within the subgenus Cantharellus and a detailed description, color photos of fresh basidiomata and line-drawings of microstructures are presented. Expand
Sequence data reveal a high diversity of Cantharellus associated with endemic vegetation in Madagascar
TLDR
This revision of Cantharellus in Madagascar deals with species that are associated with strictly endemic host trees and shrubs, and proposes five new species based on morphological differences and molecular sequence data of the tef-1 gene. Expand
Cantharellus cyphelloides (Cantharellales), a new and unusual species from a Japanese evergreen broad-leaved forest
TLDR
A new species is described from a Japanese evergreen broad-leaved forest based on morphological and molecular data and molecular phylogenetic reconstruction, which places the new species in Cantharellus subgenus Cinnabarinus. Expand
New Cantharellus species from the Republic of Korea
TLDR
In this first contribution on the genus Cantharellus in Korea, two new species are described and molecularly supported by phylogenetic analysis of sequences from the transcription elongation factor (TEF-1). Expand
Cantharellus phloginus, a new pink-colored species from southwestern China
Abstract A new species, Cantharellus phloginus , is reported from subtropical and tropical areas of Yunnan Province, and described in detail. It was distinctive from other species by uniqueExpand
Wisconsin Chanterelles Revisited and First Indications for Very Wide Distributions of Cantharellus Species in the United States East of the Rocky Mountains
TLDR
Several American collections of Cantharellus that are in one way or another related to species that have previously been reported or described from Wisconsin indicate that the potential distribution area of many of these chanterelles may be much larger than generally assumed. Expand
New and Interesting Cantharellus from Tropical Africa
TLDR
First sequences for C. defibulatus, C. rufopunctatus and C. sublaevis are provided, all of which are here epitypified, as well as new sequences for more than a dozen other Cantharellus. Expand
Cantharellus (Cantharellales, Basidiomycota) revisited in Europe through a multigene phylogeny
TLDR
Based on revised species concepts sixteen novel taxonomic synonyms are here proposed for European chanterelles, and the type of Cantharellus, C. cibarius, is epitypified. Expand

New records of Cantharellus species (Basidiomycota, Cantharellaceae) from Malaysian dipterocarp rainforest.
TLDR
Five Cantharellus species recently collected in Peninsular Malaysia are described and illustrated and described as new species and the type-collection of C. cuticulatus is revised. Expand
Cantharellus solidus, a New Species from Benin (West-Africa) with a Smooth Hymenium
TLDR
Cantharellus solidus is a new species from the Guineo-Sudanian part of Benin (West Africa) and is likely close to the C. lateritius-complex and occurs in forest galleries dominated by Berlinia grandiflora and Uapaca togoensis.
Expand
Cantharellaceae of Guyana I: new species, combinations and distribution records of Craterellus and a synopsis of known taxa
TLDR
Members of the Cantharellaceae are common ectomycorrhizal associates of the leguminous genus Dicymbe in the Pakaraima Mountains of Guyana and phylogenetic analyses of DNA sequence data from the nuclear ribosomal regions of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and 28S large subunit (LSU) revealed two new species. Expand
A multilocus phylogeny for worldwide Cantharellus (Cantharellales, Agaricomycetidae)
TLDR
The paper discusses the observed discrepancy in biodiversity of Cantharellus when comparing between studies that focus either on below- or above-ground presence, and suggests an ‘out of Africa’ Gondwanan origin as a result of vicariance and subsequent migrations. Expand
The contribution of tef-1 sequences to species delimitation in the Cantharellus cibarius complex in the southeastern USA
This study of the Cantharellus cibarius complex presents three new species for the southeastern USA based on recently collected material, as well as on revisions of type specimens and newly generatedExpand
