Exploratory Statistical Graphics for an Initial Motion Control Experiment

Abstract

We describe the use of high dimensional data visualization tools and techniques in the study of motor control in arm motion. Visualizing the captured motion data provides immediate feedback and guidance in the design of our experiments as well as longer range bene ts in uncovering relationships in the data. Even though the experiments described here are only initial experiments of human arm motion, they provide important information for our future work that combines aspects of motion control, virtual reality, and dynamic statistical graphics.
