We study the Efimov effect for three identical bosons interacting via a pairwise square-well potential. Recent experiments and theoretical studies identified both universal and non-universal three-body effects related to the finite range of the interaction. The square-well potential represents an essentially simple local finite-range potential, characterized by a well-defined range and depth, and whose properties provide full analytical input for the three-body equations.
