We present the first experimental discrimination between the 2e/3 and 4e/3 top quark electric charge scenarios, using top quark pairs (tt) produced in pp collisions at (square root) s = 1.96 TeV by the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We use 370 pb;{-1} of data collected by the D0 experiment and select events with at least one high transverse momentum electron or muon, high transverse energy imbalance, and four or more jets. We discriminate between b- and b-quark jets by using the charge and momenta… Expand

Constraints on the Top-Quark Charge from Top-Pair Events
• 2012
The top quark is the electroweak isospin partner of the bottom quark and is expected to have an electric charge of + 2/3 e. We present a measurement that discriminates between two top quark chargeExpand
A model with chiral quarks of electric charges −4/3 and 5/3
• Physics
• 2013
A bstractWe present a new model based on the SU(3)⨂SU(2)⨂U(1) symmetry, in which there is a new consistent set of chiral fermion fields that renders the model free from anomalies. The new fermions doExpand
Measurement of the top quark charge in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with the ATLAS detector
A bstractA measurement of the top quark electric charge is carried out in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider using 2.05 fb−1 of data at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. In units ofExpand
Measurement of the top quark mass in the lepton+jets channel using the ideogram method
• Physics
• 2007
A measurement of the top quark mass using events with one charged lepton, missing transverse energy, and jets in the final state, collected by the D0 detector from p (p) over bar collisions at rootExpand
Studies of top-quark properties and search for electroweak single top-quark production at the Tevatron
The top quark was discovered in 1995 by the CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron during the Run I operation. Since the start of the Tevatron Run II in 2001, both experiments have collectedExpand
First observation of the Top Quark at the Large Hadron Collider
This thesis presents the measurement of the top quark pair production cross section in the CMS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). At LHC, the top quark is produced predominantlyExpand
NLO QCD corrections to top quark pair production in association with one hard jet at hadron colliders
• Physics
• 2010
Abstract We compute the QCD corrections to the production of a t t ¯ pair in association with one hard jet at the Tevatron and the LHC, using the method of generalized D-dimensional unitarity. TopExpand
Measurements of jet charge with dijet events in pp collisions at s=8$$\sqrt{s}=8$$ TeV
A bstractJet charge is an estimator of the electric charge of a quark, antiquark, or gluon initiating a jet. It is based on the momentum-weighted sum of the electric charges of the jet constituents.Expand
Some top-quark properties measured in $$p\bar p$$ collisions using CDF detector at √ s = 1.96 TeV (Review)
• Physics
• 2012
This review considers important properties of the top-quark. The top-quark decays before hadronization, and the spin information is directly transferred to the decay products. Therefore the structureExpand
Review of Properties of the Top Quark from Measurements at the Tevatron
This review summarizes the program in the physics of the top quark being pursued at Fermilab's Tevatron proton–antiproton collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. More than a decade after theExpand
