The binding of Na (+) to arabinose (Ara), xylose (Xyl), glucose (Glc), and galactose (Gal) is examined in detail by studying the collision-induced dissociation (CID) of the four sodiated monosaccharide complexes with Xe using a guided ion beam tandem mass spectrometer (GIBMS).
