We construct a classical nonrelativistic string model in 3+1 dimensions. The model contains a spurion tensor field that is responsible for the noncommutative structure of the model. Under double-dimensional reduction the model reduces to the exotic nonrelativistic particle in 2+1 dimensions.

This paper is devoted to the canonical analysis of non-linear sigma model that describes motion of non-relativistic string on stringy Newton–Cartan background. We determine structure of constraints

Acceleration-enlarged symmetries in nonrelativistic space-time with a cosmological constant

By considering the nonrelativistic limit of de Sitter geometry one obtains the nonrelativistic space-time with a cosmological constant and Newton–Hooke (NH) symmetries. We show that the NH symmetry

Non-commutative Fluids

We review the connection between non-commutative gauge theory, matrix models and fluid mechanical systems. The non-commutative Chern-Simons description of the quantum Hall effect and bosonization of

Newton-Hooke algebras, nonrelativistic branes, and generalized pp-wave metrics

The Newton-Hooke algebras in d dimensions are constructed as contractions of dS(AdS) algebras. Nonrelativistic brane actions are WZ terms of these Newton-Hooke algebras. The NH algebras appear also !

Exotic Galilean symmetry and non-commutative mechanics in mathematical and in condensed matter physics

The ``exotic'' particle model with non-commuting position coordinates, associated with the two-parameter central extension of the planar Galilei group, can be used to derive the ground states of the

Noncommutative Fluids

Anyons, group theory and planar physics

Relativistic and nonrelativistic anyons are described in a unified formalism by means of the coadjoint orbits of the symmetry groups in the free case as well as when there is an interaction with a

Exotic Galilean symmetry in the non-commutative plane and the Hall effect

Quantum mechanics in the non-commutative plane is shown to admit the 'exotic' symmetry of the doubly centrally extended Galilei group. When coupled to a planar magnetic field whose strength is the
