The solitons and kinks of the SU(3) generalized sine-Gordon model (GSG) are shown to describe the baryonic spectrum of two-dimensional quantum chromodynamics (QCD2). The GSG model arises in the low-energy effective action of bosonized QCD2 with unequal quark mass parameters. The GSG potential for Nf = 3 flavors resembles the potential of the effective chiral lagrangian proposed by Witten to describe low-energy behavior of four dimensional QCD. Among the attractive features of the GSG model are…

Solitons as baryons and qualitons as constituent quarks in two-dimensional QCD

We study the soliton type solutions arising in two-dimensional quantum chromodynamics (QCD$_{2}$). The so-called generalized sine-Gordon model (GSG) arises as the low-energy effective action of

Generalized sine-Gordon model and baryons in two-dimensional QCD

We consider the sl(3,C) affine Toda model coupled to matter (Dirac spinor) (ATM) and through a gauge fixing procedure we obtain the classical version of the generalized sl(3,C) sine-Gordon model

Degeneracy and Kink Scattering in a Two Coupled Scalar Field Model in (1,1) Dimensions

In this work, we consider the model of two coupled scalar fields φ, χ in (1, 1) dimensions introduced by D. Bazeia, M. J. dos Santos, and R. F. Ribeiro, Phys. Lett. A 208, 84 (1995). The model has a

The scattering of Dirac fermions on the sine-Gordon kink is studied both analytically and numerically. To achieve invariance with respect to a discrete symmetry, the sine-Gordon model is treated as a

Interaction of Double Sine-Gordon Solitons with External Potentials: an Analytical Model

Interaction of double sine-Gordon solitons with a space dependent potential wall as well as a potential well is investigated by employing an analytical model based on the collective coordinate

A scattering theory of ultrarelativistic solitons

We construct a perturbative framework for understanding the collision of solitons (more precisely, solitary waves) in relativistic scalar field theories. Our perturbative framework is based on the

Renormalization of QCD2

The low energy infrared scaling of the multi-color 2-dimensional quantum chromodynamics is determined in the framework of its bosonized model by using the functional renormalization group method in

Experimental and Theoretical Evidence for Extended Particle Models

We review the experimental searches on those interactions where the fundamental particles could exhibit a non point-like behavior. In particular we focus on the QED reaction measuring the

Solitary oscillations and multiple antikink-kink pairs in the double sine-Gordon model

We study kink-antikink collisions in a particular case of the double sine-Gordon model depending on only one parameter r. The scattering process of large kink-antikink shows the changing of the

Phase structure and compactness

In order to study the influence of compactness on low-energy properties, we compare the phase structures of the compact and non-compact two-dimensional multi-frequency sine-Gordon models. It is shown

Exotic baryons in two-dimensional QCD

Two-dimensional QCD has often been used as a laboratory for studying the full four-dimensional theory, providing, for example, an explicit realization of baryons as solitons. We review aspects of

Solitons, kinks and extended hadron model based on the generalized sine-Gordon theory

The solitons and kinks of the generalized sl(3,) sine-Gordon (GSG) model are explicitly obtained through the hybrid of the Hirota and dressing methods in which the tau functions play an important

Reduction of affine two-loop WZNW model, the Toda system coupled to the matter and topological confinement

The conformal affine Toda model coupled to the matter field (CATM) is obtained through a classical reduction of the $sl(2)^{(1)}$ affine two-loop WZNW model. After spontaneously broken the conformal

Bosonization and generalized Mandelstam soliton operators

Abstract. The generalized massive Thirring model (GMT) with three fermion species is bosonized in the context of the functional integral and operator formulations and shown to be equivalent to a
