Discrete symmetries employed to explain flavor mixing and ma ss hierarchies can be associated with an enlarged scalar sector which might lead to exotic Higgs decay modes. In this paper, we explore such a possibility in a scenario with S3 flavor symmetry which requires three scalar SU(2) doublets. The spectrum is fixed by minimizing the scalar potential, and we observe that the symmetry of the model leads to tantalizing Higgs decay modes potentially observable at the CERN Large Hadron Collider…

Higgs Lepton Flavor Violating Decays in Two Higgs Doublet Models

The discovery of a non-zero rate for a lepton flavor violating decay mode of the Higgs boson would definitely be an indication of New Physics. We review the prospects for such signal in Two Higgs

Quark mixing in an $S_3$ symmetric model with two Higgs doublets

We construct a model where the smallness of the masses of first quark generations implies the near block diagonal nature of the CKM matrix and vice-versa. For this set-up, we rely on a 2HDM structure

Flavor Mixing Phenomenology in Supersymmetric Models

This dissertation investigates the flavor mixing effects in supersymmetric models on electroweak precision observables, Higgs boson mass predictions, B-physics observables, quark flavor violating

S3 symmetry and the quark mixing matrix

Nondecoupling of charged scalars in Higgs decay to two photons and symmetries of the scalar potential

A large class of two- and three-Higgs-doublet models with discrete symmetries has been employed in the literature to address various aspects of flavor physics. We analyze how the precision

Analysis of an extended scalar sector with S3 symmetry

We investigate the scalar potential of a general S3-symmetric three-Higgs-doublet model. The outcome of our analysis does not depend on the fermionic sector of the model. We identify a decoupling

Generating lepton masses and mixings with a heavy vector doublet

We construct a viable extension of the SM with a heavy vector in the fundamental $SU\left( 2\right) _{L}$ representation and nine SM singlet scalar fields, consistent with the current SM fermion mass

Searching for exotic Higgs bosons at the LHC

: We analyse in a model independent way the possibilities of digging out neutral exotic Higgs states, should they exist endowed with unconventional couplings with ordinary matter and gauge fields, at
