We present a detailed investigation of the exciton and trion dynamics in naturally doped ${\mathrm{MoSe}}_{2}$ and ${\mathrm{WSe}}_{2}$ single atomic layers as a function of temperature in the range 10--300 K under above band-gap laser excitation. By combining time-integrated and time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, we show the importance of exciton and trion localization in both materials at low temperatures. We also reveal the transition to delocalized exciton complexes at… Expand

Probing of free and localized excitons and trions in atomically thin WSe2, WS2, MoSe2 and MoS2 in photoluminescence and reflectivity experiments.
TLDR
The total PL intensity decreases moderately in WSe2 and WS2, strongly in MoS2 and dramatically in MoSe2, and it is proposed that the line interpreted previously in PL spectra of WSe 2 andWS2 as related to the biexciton emission is a superposition of the bIExciton, trion and localized exciton emission. Robust room temperature emissions of trion in darkish WSe2 monolayers: effects of dark neutraland charged excitonic states.
TLDR
A comprehensive theory to probe the impact of different excitonic channels on the trion emission in WSe2 monolayers is developed, which combines ab initio tight-binding formalism, BetheSalpeter equation and a set of coupled rate equations to describe valley dynamics ofexcitonic particles. Expand
Effects of composition and temperature on the exciton emission behaviors of Mo(SxSe1-x)2 monolayer: Experiment and theory.
TLDR
The controllable synthesis of monolayer Mo(S$x$Se$_{1-x}$)$_{2}$ nanosheets by one-step chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and systematical investigation on the exciton emission characteristics based on the temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) experiments show results consistent with the theoretical results calculated by the density function theory (DFT). Coherence and Density Dynamics of Excitons in a Single-Layer MoS2 Reaching the Homogeneous Limit
TLDR
It is found that the exciton dynamics is governed by microscopic disorder on top of the ideal crystal properties, which provides stable monolayer samples with low disorder, avoiding surface contaminations and the resulting exciton broadening and modifications of the dynamics. Expand
Nonlinear dynamics of trions under strong optical excitation in monolayer MoSe2
TLDR
The results provide a basic understanding of the nonlinear dynamics of population and valley depolarization of trions, as well as exciton-trion correlation in atomically thin MoSe2 and other transition metal dichalcogenide materials. Expand
