The conductance G of a pair of single-channel point contacts in series, one of which is a spin filter, increases from 1/2 to 2/3 x e^2/h with more and more spin-flip scattering. This excess conductance was observed in a quantum dot by Zumbuhl et al., and proposed as a measure for the spin relaxation time T_1. Here we present a quantum mechanical theory for the effect in a chaotic quantum dot (mean level spacing Delta, dephasing time tau_phi, charging energy e^2/C), in order to answer the… Expand

Dephasing-enabled triplet Andreev conductance
We study the conductance of normal-superconducting quantum dots with strong spin-orbit scattering, coupled to a source reservoir using a single-mode spin-filtering quantum point contact. The choiceExpand
Theoretical Investigation of Nonequilibrium Spin Transport Through a Triple Site Quantum Wire System
A triple lattice site quantum wire (QW) system is chosen to investigate nonequilibrium spin transport properties theoretically. We calculate the initial charge of the QW from the exactly derivedExpand
Effect of inelastic scattering on spin entanglement detection through current noise
We study the effect of inelastic scattering on the spin entanglement detection and discrimination scheme proposed by Egues, Burkard, and Loss [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{89}, 176401 (2002)]. TheExpand

TLDR
The time decay of the Loschmidt echo is addressed, analytically and numerically, and the LE is found to decay exponentially in time, with the rate equal to the classical escape rate from an open billiard obtained from the original one by removing the perturbation-affected region of its boundary. Distribution of parametric conductance derivatives of a quantum dot.
The conductance G of a quantum dot with single-mode ballistic point contacts depends sensitively on external parameters X, such as gate voltage and magnetic field. We calculate the joint distributionExpand
Singlet-triplet decoherence due to nuclear spins in a double quantum dot
We have evaluated hyperfine-induced electron spin dynamics for two electrons confined to a double quantum dot. Our quantum solution accounts for decay of a singlet-triplet correlator even in theExpand
Single-shot read-out of an individual electron spin in a quantum dot
TLDR
Electrical single-shot measurement of the state of an individual electron spin in a semiconductor quantum dot is demonstrated using spin-to-charge conversion of a single electron confined in the dot, and the single-electron charge is detected using a quantum point contact. Expand
Spin polarized injection into a quantum dot by means of the spatial separation of spins
Abstract We describe transport measurements on a small lateral dot involving spin polarized injection and detection. The novel layout of the lateral dot allows its electron occupation number to beExpand
Voltage-probe and imaginary-potential models for dephasing in a chaotic quantum dot
We compare two widely used models for dephasing in a chaotic quantum dot: the introduction of a fictitious voltage probe into the scattering matrix and the addition of an imaginary potential to theExpand
Voltage probe model of spin decay in a chaotic quantum dot with applications to spin-flip noise and entanglement production
The voltage probe model is a model of incoherent scattering in quantum transport. Here we use this model to study the effect of spin-flip scattering on electrical conduction through a quantum dotExpand
Phonon-Induced Decay of the Electron Spin in Quantum Dots
We study spin relaxation and decoherence in a GaAs quantum dot due to spin-orbit (SO) interaction. We derive an effective Hamiltonian which couples the electron spin to phonons or any otherExpand

We demonstrated coherent control of a quantum two-level system based on two-electron spin states in a double quantum dot, allowing state preparation, coherent manipulation, and projective readout.Expand
Controlling Spin Qubits in Quantum Dots
TLDR
The exchange interaction of coupled quantum dots is calculated and the concept of spin filtering using quantum dots and an implementation of a read out scheme for spin qubits are shown and how qubits can be measured with high precision are defined. Expand
Spin-current shot noise as a probe of interactions in mesoscopic systems.
TLDR
It is shown that the spin-resolved current shot noise can probe attractive or repulsive interactions in mesoscopic systems, and a setup is proposed in a quantum dot geometry. Expand
