We examine various well known exact solutions available in the literature to investigate the recent criterion obtained in Negi and Durgapal [Gravitation and Cosmology7, 37 (2001)] which should be fulfilled by any static and spherically symmetric solution in the state of hydrostatic equilibrium. It is seen that this criterion is fulfilled only by (i) the regular solutions having a vanishing surface density together with pressure, and (ii) the singular solutions corresponding to a non-vanishing… Expand

An approximate global solution of Einstein’s equations for a rotating finite body

New Solutions of Einstein Equations in Spherical Symmetry: The Cosmic Censor to the Court
Abstract: A new class of solutions of the Einstein field equations in spherical symmetry is found. The new solutions are mathematically described as the metrics admitting separation of variables inExpand
Non-Perfect-Fluid Space-Times in Thermodynamic Equilibrium and Generalized Friedmann Equations
We determine the energy-momentum tensor of nonperfect fluids in thermodynamic equilibrium and, respectively, near to it. To this end, we derive the constitutive equations for energy density andExpand
Static trace free Einstein equations and stellar distributions

KERR – SCHILD FIELDS AND GRAVITATIONAL SOURCES
Kerr–Schild solutions to the vacuum Einstein equations are considered from the viewpoint of integral equations. We show that, for a class of Kerr–Schild fields, the stress-energy tensor can beExpand
Black hole solutions in R2 gravity
