In this paper, an artificial creature is designed to have its own genome in which a specific personality is encoded. The genome is composed of 14 chromosomes each of which consists of three kinds of genes such as fundamental genes, internal-state-related genes, and behavior-related genes. To represent various types of personality, a large number of genes are needed. In this case, if gene values are assigned manually for the individual genome, it becomes increasingly difficult and time-consuming…

Robot's emotional expression generation based on context information and combination of behavior database

A robot's expression generation method based on the context information and combination of behavior database for emotional interactive service to generate synchronized multimodal expressions automatically using a few of pre-defined database and the contextInformation inputs.

Intelligence Technology for Robots That Think [Application Notes]

This classification categorizes the intelligence of robots based on the different aspects of awareness and the ability to act deliberately as a result of such awareness into six categories: cognitive intelligence, social intelligence, behavioral intelligence, ambient intelligence, collective intelligence and genetic intelligence.

The Next Technological Wave: Intelligence Technology for Intelligence Super Agent [Research Frontier]

This paper proposes an intelligence super agent (iSA) as an autonomous entity equipped with all categories of intelligence, i.e. cognitive, social, behavioral, ambient, collective, and genetic intelligences, and presents a modular architecture, named intelligence operating architecture (iOA), capable of implementing all aspects of InT along with a biologically-inspired thought process.

A chatbot personality model and an algorithm that enables the chatbot to adapt its personality in real-time as it interacts in conversation with the user that focus on two key personality traits, Extroversion and Agreeableness.

Context Generator and Behavior Translator in a Multilayer Architecture for a Modular Development Process of Cyber-Physical Robot Systems

A context generator and a behavior translator are introduced for the abstractions in the multilayer architecture that enable two levels of abstraction in which software and hardware components can be developed independently of each other.

Development and Implementation of Break Falling System for a Biped Robot

Application of the main focus of this research to make a robot break-fall when external forces are exerted behind the robot may result in reduction of precarious incidents of robots falling down, which will be beneficial for robot developers.

Multi-objective evolutionary generation process for specific personalities of artificial creature

By proposed MOEGPP, nondominated genomes having specific personalities can be obtained and they are successfully tested by using an artificial creature, Rity, in the virtual 3D world created in a PC.

Genetic Representation for Evolvable Artificial Creature

A genetic representation method to evolve artificial creature's personality by using artificial genome and evolutionary generative algorithm is proposed and the artificial creature, Rity, is developed in a virtual world of PC to test the effectiveness of this representation scheme.

The Origin of Artificial Species: Genetic Robot

This paper provides a basis for investigating "The Origin of Artificial Species," as a robot can be considered as an artificial creature, and its general internal architecture is presented and its artificial chromosomes are proposed as its essential components.

Evolutionary Generation of Artificial Creature's Personality for Ubiquitous Services

The Evolutionary Generative Process for an Artificial Creature’s Personality (EGPP) evolves a genome population such that it customizes the genome, meeting a simplified set of personality traits desired by the user.
