The 5-hydroxytryptamine-2B receptor is the most recent addition to the 5-hydroxytryptamine-2 family of G-protein-coupled receptors. In the rat stomach fundus, 5-hydroxytryptamine-2B receptor activation causes contraction; however, its distribution and function in the rat CNS are unclear.
