Whether radio intermediate quasars possess relativistic jets as radio-loud quasars is an important issue in the understanding of the origin of radio emission in quasars. In this letter, using the two-epoch radio data obtained during Faint Image of Radio Sky at Twenty centimeter sky (FIRST) and NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS), we identified 89 radio variable sources in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Among them, more than half are radio intermediate quasars (RL = f20cm/f 2500u < 250). For all objects…

On the Selection Effect of Radio Quasars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
• Physics

We identify a large sample of radio quasars, including those with complex radio morphology, from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and the Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty cm (FIRST). Using this

We report the results of our intensive intranight optical monitoring of 8 optically bright ‘radio-intermediate quasars’ (RIQs) having flat or inverted radio spectra. The monitoring was carried out in
The Radio Properties of Radio-Loud Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies on Parsec Scales

We use the accretion disk/corona + jet model to fit the multi-band spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of two unusual radio-intermediate/quiet quasars. It is found that the optical/UV emission of
A POPULATION OF RADIO-LOUD NARROW-LINE SEYFERT 1 GALAXIES WITH BLAZAR-LIKE PROPERTIES?
Blazars having strong emission lines were found to be associated mostly with broad-line type 1 active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Hitherto, evidence for blazars identified with narrow-line Seyfert 1
Possible γ-ray emission of radio intermediate AGN III Zw 2 and its implication on the evolution of jets in AGNs
• Physics
• 2010
AGNs with hard gamma-ray emission identified so far are radio-loud. III Zw 2 is a radio intermediate AGN with a relativistic jet. We study its spectral energy distribution (SED) and find that the

A large sample of Kohonen-selected SDSS quasars with weak emission lines: selection effects and statistical properties
• Physics

Aims. A tiny fraction of the quasar population shows remarkably weak emission lines. Several hypotheses have been developed, but the weak line quasar (WLQ) phenomenon still remains puzzling. The aim
