Abstract In intact cells of the non-gummy Azotobacter vinelandii OP CO-insensitivity of the respiratory activity increased with decreasing dissolved oxygen tension in the bacterial suspension. Upon changing from low to high aeration conditions the CO-sensitive respiration was restored.
